Lead copywriting for Xbox/ lots of headlines

300 million emails. Lead copywriting for two major digital programs. More puns than I’m proud of admitting to.

Global Xbox Week in Review

The Xbox Week in Review is an individualized newsletter driven by headlines, body copy, CTAs, and personalized data. See some of my favorite headlines, plus a concern a client had about working with me:

“Please extend my compliments to the Copy Writing team for the alternates in the April Week 3 Rd 1 Comps. They are all very good. Hopefully, the stakeholders will not have a hard of a time approving one over the other.”—Xbox weekly client

Xbox Games with Gold CRM program

Games with Gold is a premium membership program for Xbox gamers. So over my time writing for it, I wanted to make it sound premium. I was the first to instigate creative headlines in our YouTube banners, unique evocative body copy throughout instead of feature-based info, and a monthly theme-based approach. I improved its CTOR and Open Rate, and then shattered my own record with a near 25% Open Rate subject line written in Hexadecimal code—a nod to a title we were highlighting that month.

“Overall, fantastic job. This was the first time, after years of doing these, that I really felt like I was reading a mail written for me (as a gamer). I chuckled and smiled all the way through. It was a real treat. I connected with the tone, got the jokes, and had a blast reading it.”— Xbox Games with Gold client
